Agent Mulder joined the FBI after graduating first in his class at university and was on a fast track up the promotional ladder until hypnotic regression convinced him that his sister (Samantha) was abducted by aliens. This side-tracked Mulder into investigating the paranormal and he now spends his time working on the X-files and being the voice of the TRUTH for extraordinary, unexplained and paranormal activities. Mulder chose to work in the unheated basement of the Bureau's offices where the X-files had been buried, away from sight by the FBI. He now works with agent Dana Scully who is meant to be debunking Mulders work but instead has started to become a sceptical beleiver of Mulder, and his theories, and she is now striving to find the scientific evidence that Mulder needs. |
| Mulder has undergone several character changes from being an un-repressible beleiver who disputes any scientific evidence against his theories, to a paranoid beleiver that the FBI and the government are covering up the existence of extraterrestrial biological entities (EBE's), and then a beleiver that everything he had seen and experienced was fabricated by the government to make him beleive so that he would create theories which would hide the truth that they were conducting secret experiments on human subjects. Mulder has now regained his motivation and has had his faith restored that not everything is as it seems and that the truth can still be found if you are prepared to sacrifice everything you have to find it. Mulder is prepared to sacrifice everything he has, reputation, job, and even his life to uncover the truth and the men behind this government cover-up. These men have found that they underestimated Mulders determination and now focus on his one weakness... Scully. Mulder has on several occasions sacrificed the precious evidence he needed to expose the people behind all the lies to save Scully. |

| Mulder now is a
constant threat to the FBI and the government and has to
rely on his networks in congress and other high ranking
officials to be allowed to continue his work on the X-files
which at the moment is suspended although this has not
stopped Mulder from carrying on his own investigations. Mulder has pissed away what could have been a brilliant carrer in the FBI so that he can run around howling at the moon, chasing aliens, pissing off FBI officials, local area law enforcement and sometimes Scully to find what he calls 'the truth'. How Mulder has not been fired from the FBI, not only for disregarding direct orders, jepordising lives, but for the shear fact that over the several years that he has been working on the X-files he has not solved a single case, not ended up with any quantative evidance and on several occations has ended up hospitalising himself, Scully, and even members of his and Scullys family. |
